For prospective students who want to apply to the College, the basic requirements to apply for the General programme and the Early Childhood Education programme as contained on the college’s official website are stated and therefore explained below:
General programme admission requirements
Prospective applicants who wish to apply with their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result are expected to have passes in six (6) subjects which will include English language and Core Mathematics. Out of these subjects, they are to have three (3) elective subjects that are relevant to the course they want to study. On a minimal level, three (3) subjects out of the six (6) are expected to be C6, and they must also be relevant to the general programme option.
But for prospective applicants who want to apply with their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) result, they are expected to have passes between A and D in not less than six (6) subjects which must include English Language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) subjects out of the six (6) have to be relevant to the general programme option.
Early Childhood Education Programme admission requirements
Any prospective applicant who is applying with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result for this course is expected to possess a minimum of C6 in three (3) subjects out of the Six (6) subjects that are required for the programme. While the grades must include English language and Core Mathematics, other subjects must be relevant to the Early Childhood Option they are applying for.
Moreover, whosoever is applying using the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) result, such is expected to have passes from A to D in six (6) subjects which must also include English Language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) subjects out of the six (6) subjects are expected to be relevant to the Early Childhood programme option such a person is applying for.
How to apply to Holy Child College of Education
Prospective applicants who wish to apply to the Holy Child College of Education are to make payment into Colleges of Education Ghana account at any branch of GCB Bank Ltd or UniBank Ghana Ltd. After the payment, a card will be given to them. Once they receive the card, they are to log in to colleges of Education portal to continue their application process which is explained below:
- Click the ‘Log in’ button to begin the process.
- Supply your card information and ensure you keep the card safely in case you want to log in another time.
- Fill the application form and ensure all required details are supplied.
- Attach a passport picture in JPG or JPEG format which should not exceed 40KB in size.
- Click the ‘Preview’ button and then the edit button to adjust the picture you have uploaded.
- If you want to continue to fill the form later, then you can click ‘Save and Continue later’ button.
- Once all the required fields are filled, click ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to complete your online application, and then the ‘Print Form’ button to print your Confirmation page (2 copies).
- Click on the ‘Close’ button to return to the login page.
Once you have done all these, attach your result slip(s) together with any other necessary documents you want to be part, and forward them by post to Holy Child College of Education for further processing of your application. While you are doing this, ensure that you quote your Application Reference/Form number on your envelop.
